The city of Rio de Janeiro faces the sixth consecutive day of rain this Friday (20). It has not stopped raining since last Sunday (15).
The municipality entered the attention stage due to the rain on Tuesday (17). It is the second stage on a scale of five gradations that determines the situation of the city.
At the end of the night on Thursday (19), the fall of a tree partially occupied the Estrada de Furnas, in Alto da Boa Vista, at the height of the Tijuaçu Highway. Both senses were released early in the morning.

In Jardim Botânico, in the South Zone, the accumulation of water partially occupied the Rua Jardim Botânico at the height of Rua Pacheco Leão, the route was closed and only released around 2h20, according to the Rio Operations Center (COR ).
In Glória, the accumulation of water partially prohibited Rua do Catete, at the height of Rua Silveira Martins. The path was only cleared at the end of dawn.
A landslide on the Estrada das Canoas, in the direction of São Conrado, blocked the route on Thursday afternoon (19). The accident happened around 4:10 pm.

Drivers must double their attention due to wet tracks. On Avenida Brasil, the overturning of a truck loaded with vegetables took two lanes at the time from Bonsucesso, towards Centro. Firefighters, Military Police and CET-Rio teams attended the scene.
Early in the morning, the road was still closed for removal of the dump truck. The detour was made towards the side lane of the road.
Two other accidents were recorded on the Yellow Line. In one of them, a car overturned a lane near the Covanca Tunnel, towards Barra da Tijuca.
The streets of São Gonçalo flood after the rain
The city of São Gonçalo, in the Metropolitan Region of Rio, still had several flood points in the early morning.
The Guaxindiba river overflowed in Alcântara, occupying the street.
In the Jardim Catarina neighborhood, a soccer field was completely flooded.

The Navy reported that waves of up to 2.5 meters high can reach the edge of the capital until 9:00 p.m. this Friday.
