The state government announced this Friday “Renda Minas”, an aid that begins to be paid next month and will be deposited monthly until December for families below the poverty line, those with incomes below R $ 89 per member. . The amount will be around R $ 39 per person.

Minas Gerais Emergency Aid will be paid with resources from Vale’s compensation for disasters with dams in the state and also with resources from the federal government. The announcement was made by Governor Romeu Zema (New). “The state has a sealed budget for social assistance, that is, this resource can only be applied to this area,” he said.

According to the Secretary of State for Social Development, Elizabeth Jucá, who also announced actions aimed at generating employment, Minas Gerais currently has 2.8 million people, more than 10% of the population is hungry. “Our focus is always on these people. They must be registered in CadÚnico. Today they represent 13.33% of the population of Minas Gerais, which is a significant number, ”he said.

“No program outside of the federal government has reached a million families. I did a survey in every state and the number of families that we are going to reach is very significant. We are focusing on these extremely poor and hungry families. This is complementary to the Emergency Aid from the Federal Government, which, with this fall, will also harden. So what we want is to give relief to these families, “he added.

According to the secretary, the program will also reach many indigenous people, quilombolas and vagabonds, who are registered in CadÚnico in this condition.
