The President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, visited the city of Jacinto, in Alto Jequitinhonha, yesterday afternoon, where he participated in the inauguration ceremony of the cornerstone for the implantation and paving of BR-367, between the municipality and the southern coast of Bahia. The event, which was scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm, was held at the Fazenda Bela Vista, on the banks of the MG-405 highway, almost 2 hours late. With the presence of the ministers, Governor Romeu Zema (Novo) and local leaders, the ceremony took on a campaign air. The work is prayed for R $ 60 million. Half of the resources come from the value of the collective amendments of the Minas Gerais bench in Congress.
The first to speak was the Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcsio Gomes de Freitas. He said the laying of the cornerstone means that the Jequitinhonha Valley was not and will not be forgotten by the federal government. In addition to the paving of BR-367, the minister announced the tender for the recovery works of the bridge over the Jequitinhonha river, on BR-116. He said that the miners will still be contemplated with the completion of the BR 381 duplication works and the paving of the road between Minas Novas and Virgem da Lapa, in Mdio Jequitinhonha, thanks to the work of the “president sent by God.
Bolsonaro arrived by helicopter from Porto Seguro and arrived at the Fazenda Bela Vista construction site together with the governor of Minas. The ceremony was quick. As always, Bolsonaro, when it was announced, was described as a “myth” by his supporters, who were under the tent installed at Fazenda Bela Vista. An audience addressed himself saying that a miner from Juiz de Fora, the city where he was “reborn”, alluding to the attack he suffered in that city in the Zona da Mata in Minas Gerais during the 2018 presidential campaign.
To demonstrate his “mineiridade”, Bolsonaro said that, in 2020, Cruzeiro will ascend to the Srie A of the Brazilian, with Gallo the champion of Brazil and America, the champion of the Brazilian Cup. “And, in 2023, I will organize a trip to the sea for Minas Gerais,” he said, entertaining the audience. Governor Romeu Zema said he has lost count of how many times he visited the Jequitinhonha Valley. He explained that he made the visits not as a governor, but as a businessman, when he worked in the private sector and did business with companies in the region. He thanked President Bolsonaro and said that his priority commitment to the people of Minas Gerais is linked to the generation of employment and income, and that the paving of BR-367 will contribute to his government policy, promoting the development of the Valley.
