Motorola, Samsung and Huawei launch new devices in Brazil

This last week was busy in the Brazilian market. After a moment of silence due to all the logistical problems created by the coronavirus, Motorola, Samsung and Huawei decided to launch new models in a window of just 4 days, and there is still more to come.

The first was Huawei, which last Friday presented the Nova 5T for R $ 3,000. The device is basically a simpler version of the P30 Pro, with the same processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage, a beautifully finished body, four rear cameras, and even support for Google services, as it was released there earlier. the embargo will be effective.

Motorola decided it was time for another model for the Moto G8 line, now launching the Moto G8 Power Lite. Here we have an intermediary between the Moto G8 Power and the Moto G8 Lite, the battery life is the big difference. The suggested price is R $ 1,400.

Finally, Samsung launched another Galaxy A, with the Galaxy A31 arriving in Brazil for R $ 2,000. The device brings some occasional changes in relation to the Galaxy A30s, launched in Brazil for R $ 1,600 just 6 months ago, since better cameras, MediaTek processor and more battery should be a good option when its price is close to a thousand reais.

Samsung may launch Galaxy A with pop-up camera

Speaking of the Galaxy A line, Samsung is preparing to launch a new exotic model with a pop-up camera, which may present itself as the successor to the Galaxy A80, the only one in the family that has yet to win a variant.

The similarities to the 2019 model are the body made of metal and glass, the interference-free display, and the absence of the headphone port P2, but we have some major differences, such as swapping the Super AMOLED display for an LCD panel, which pushed the fingerprint reader towards the back of the device.

The camera mechanism has also changed, leaving the amazing rotating camera slide to enter a popup as seen in One Hyper and Mi 9T, responsible only for the front camera.

This was probably thought to make the device cheaper, as the Galaxy A80 was heavily criticized for its salty launch price in both Brazil and the international market, but we’ll still wait for more details to come out to be sure.

MIUI 12 announced

Xiaomi this week presented MIUI 12, a new version of its personalized Android interface. As expected, we have a few occasional MIUI 11 changes released a few months ago, including new animations, cleaner menus, new navigation gestures, privacy and multitasking improvements, and a few other polishes.

Beta testing in China has already started with more than 20 supported models, but we still don’t have information on its openness for global versions or the public availability of the update.

Official Redmi Note 9 and Mi Note 10 Lite

Xiaomi took advantage of this end of April to present two more models, one from the Redmi line and the other from the Mi Note.

The Redmi Note 9 arrives as the most basic of its family so far, bringing many elements already seen in the Redmi Note 9 but with cost cuts at some points in order to offer a more aggressive price.

Although it looks practically identical, the new model is slightly smaller, as its screen has been reduced from 6.67 to 6.53 inches. The hole for the front camera moved from the center to the left corner, while the rear cameras remain in the same place but now with a digital reader just below, instead of being on the side as in the Redmi Note 9s.

In hardware, Snapdragon 720G appears and MediaTek’s Helio G85 comes in, with options of 3 and 4 GB of RAM along with 64 and 128 GB of internal storage. On cameras, the main sensor and the ultra-wide sensor are the same, as well as the depth sensor, which changes only the macro sensor that changes from 5 to 2 megapixels and the front sensor that changes from 16 to 13 megapixels. The 5,020 mAh battery was maintained.

Speaking of Mi Note 10 Lite, we may have even more modest changes. The look won a block for the rear cameras, following the trend we seemingly have on virtually every device this year. Plus, it’s basically the same as the Mi Note 10, with a curved display, metal and glass body, and minimal edges.

Speaking of cameras, we now have four instead of five, and simpler. The 108 megapixel sensor gives way to 64 megapixels, and the ultra wide 20 megapixel gives way to one of only 8. The two cameras with zoom no longer exist, being replaced by a depth sensor of 5 megapixels, and finally we have the same 2 megapixel macro camera as previous models. The front drops from 32 to 16 megapixels.

The rest of the Mi Note 10 Lite is the same as its more expensive sibling, which includes a 5,260 mAh battery with a 30W recharge, an under-screen digital reader and Snapdragon 730G, with options ranging from 6GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

The Redmi Note 9 has a suggested price starting at US $ 199, while the Mi Note 10 Lite will sell from 349 euros. We don’t have any price or availability forecast in Brazil yet.
