Raniel, from Santos, spoke through social networks after the diagnosis of deep venal thrombosis (DVT). The striker is hospitalized in Goiânia and must be transferred to São Paulo this Sunday through “air ICU”.
“I come here to thank you all for your support, it is just another battle that in the name of Jesus I am going to win. Warrior does not shy away from the fight,” Raniel wrote.
The swelling in the attacker’s right leg was the warning sign. After the diagnosis, Raniel was hospitalized, took blood thinners, and has no deadline set by the medical department to return to work. There will be a full evaluation to see if the “blockage” is in another part of the body.
Some factors may have contributed to Raniel’s image, such as the hours of travel: Peixe played nine games and had five air trips, two international, in a month.
In Paraguay, specifically, the heat was around 40 degrees during the entire preparation time to face Olimpia. Dehydration is another aggravating factor. And there is also the recent case of covid-19 in the athlete. Only Raniel and Kaio Jorge had the new coronavirus.
Raniel is 24 years old, has 14 games played in 2020 and is a frequent option under coach Cuca.
