Large volumes of rain were observed in areas of the states of Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro due to the influence of South Atlantic Convergence Zone (ZCAS).

Serra (ES): 143.3 MM, half of which fell in about 6 hours.
Upstream (MG): 140.6mm.
Nova Friburgo (RJ): 127.9 mm. The accumulated precipitation in the region of Granja Spinelli in Nova Friburgo has already reached almost 326 mm in the last three days. The normal average precipitation for the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro in December ranges from 250 to 300 mm.
In Nova Lima in the great Belo Horizonte it rained 119.11 mm
In Atílio Vivácqua (ES): 118.6 mm
On Raposos (MG): 117 mm
In Fundão (ES): 116.1 mm. Around 80mm fell in just 6 hours
These were the largest accumulated, but in many localities of Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro, the accumulated precipitation in 24 hours was between 80 and almost 100 mm.

More rain forecast
The South Atlantic Convergence Zone continues quite active in the southeastern region of Brazil this Thursday.
Rain will continue to be frequent and there is a risk of heavy and voluminous rains in all three states. The biggest concern at the moment is with the south-central region of Espírito Santo, which should still receive large volumes of water at the end of the day.
Why excessive rain volume That has been accumulating since the beginning of this week, the risk of stream and river overflows, floods in urban centers and also landslides may begin to occur in the coming days.
