The news of the resignation of coach Thomas Tuchel, which took place last Thursday (24), was the one that most moved the football world on Christmas Eve. Second, the newspaper L’Équipe, however, the German’s departure was far from friendly.

According to the publication, Tuchel was said to have been caught off guard when he was fired shortly after a 4-0 loss to Strasbourg in Ligue 1, putting the team back in the fray for the tournament leadership. The German reportedly met with Leonardo, PSG’s sporting director, who reportedly informed him of the decision.

The spirits would soon have heated up, and a private conversation between them would have lasted little more than an hour, in which both would have raised their voices and were exalted. According to the Brazilian, the resignation was due to an “accumulation of several other previous situations.”

Thomas Tuchel would have then left the room, returned to the Training Center and collected his things, and the decision of the Parisians was confirmed. His contract was until the end of this season, but he was already preparing to move forward with the 2021/22 planning.

Now, PSG is looking for a successor to the German, who joined the club in July 2018, after a good spell at Borussia Dortmund. The most talked about name is Mauricio Pochettino, an Argentine who has not had a club since he left Tottenham.
