Prosecutors of the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro, members of the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco), with the support of the Security and Intelligence Coordination and the Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration, launched, this Wednesday, an action to comply three preventive arrest warrants and another 14 search and seizure warrants. The targets of the operation, called Intocáveis III, are members of the Rio das Pedras militia, in the West Zone of Rio, denounced for crimes of criminal organization and money laundering. Until the end of this morning, R $ 117 thousand, cell phones, computers and documents were seized.
Two of the targets of the operation were already behind bars. One of them is Marcus Vinicius Reis dos Santos, known as Fininho. He had been denounced in the first phase of Operation Los Untocables and was already in prison. According to MPRJ, even from prison, Fininho continues to give orders to other members of the gang. The other member of the militia who was already in prison is Fernando Braga Ribeiro, who, according to the investigations, acted as an orange in the gang.
Bruno Leonardo Fonseca Teixeira is wanted and is considered a fugitive. According to the Public Ministry, Fininho is considered the right hand of Maurício Silva da Costa, known as Maurição, one of the leaders of the militia that operates in the region and who was also denounced in Operation Os Untocables.
The Rio das Pedras militia exploits criminal activities, such as extortion, grilagem, and loan fraud. According to the investigation, the criminal group moved more than R $ 5 million in its business. The securities have already been blocked by the Court, at the request of Gaeco, after being located by prosecutors who are investigating how the gang laundered the money obtained in irregular businesses.
This Wednesday, search and seizure orders are being carried out in homes located in the neighborhoods of Curicica, Recreio dos Bandeirantes, Itanhangá, Jacarepaguá and Rio das Pedras, all in the West Zone of Rio.
