Professor Ronald Pallotta, from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo (FCMSC), wore a black mask during an online class held this week. The initiative, described as “black face” – a practice considered offensive by the black population – was described as racist by the students who released the video.
In the images, Pallotta appears saying phrases like “I don’t eat these weak foods here at SUS” and “I eat men’s food, do you understand?”
The educational institution told the Twitter, by note, which will conduct an internal investigation.
“The Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo vigorously rejects any racist or prejudiced action. Aware of the aforementioned video, the institution determined the opening of an internal investigation to investigate the facts that may result in the removal of the doctor involved,” he says the declaration.
Wanted, the Santa Casa de Misericórdia de São Paulo confirmed to the Twitter that Professor Ronald is a doctor at the institution, but to date no complaints of racism have been received.
“We consulted with the Medical Residency Commission and no complaints were received. We will open an internal investigation into the reported case, since until now we do not know the content of this complaint. Santa Casa de São Paulo rejects any type of discrimination, sexist and sexist” says the entity.
The report attempted to contact the professor by phone and social media, but has yet to receive comment.
