In a ceremony this Friday night, at the CBF headquarters, the best of the 2020 Brazilian Championship, won by Flamengo, was unveiled. The Bragantino midfielder, Claudinho, was chosen as the best player in the competition and also the revelation of the championship.
One of the elected forwards, Marinho, who tested positive for Covid-19, sent a video message thanking the votes and greeting Santos fans. Fagner, in treatment of an injury, cannot attend either.

Due to the pandemic, CBF adopted a security protocol for the event in which only the winners could circulate in the auditorium, without guests. All those who had access to the event, among the winners and those involved in the organization, had to pass tests, according to the organization.
For just the second time since CBF created the award in 2005, the champion club has only climbed two names in the championship selection. Before Flamengo with Gerson and Gabigol in 2020, only Corinthians in 2011 had only two representatives: Ralf and Paulinho.

Like 2019, this edition of the Brasileirão Award has equal categories for men and women, chosen by votes of a collegiate of captains, players and specialized journalists, between February 5 and 19. In total, there will be 34 individual awards for athletes and coaches.

Weverton: “Thank God for being here enjoying this moment. Goalkeeper the less it seems the better. Being a goalkeeper is a lot of responsibility. I like to be discreet, with my defense safe.”
Gerson: “Happy to be here again. For the second time. We managed to win the title in the last rounds. Very difficult championship, but we managed to reach the goal. After a lot of pain we became champions. Keep working to continue like this and I will continue behind my personal goals “.
Vineyard: “I am a boy who since I arrived in Ceará said that he wanted to make history. A club that is growing a lot, the Northeast is growing a lot, Ceará is planning well. I am very happy to represent this region, where I am very welcome. We made history. I’m here representing everyone who helped me stand out. ”
Gabigol: “I want to come back more (here). A different year for all the players. It was complicated. I had some injuries that left me behind (in the artillery). I’m staying (in Flamengo), I really want to stay in Flamengo. I hope that at the end of the year you will get more prizes ”.
Abel Braga: “This is as if I had represented all my teammates, because here we had Fagner, injury, Marinho, Covid, so it was a very unusual year, with many difficulties. They all had to reinvent themselves. Being club presidents, coaches, players, because plan B had to come out very quickly. Nobody was prepared for that. Out here we have to respect each other. I am honored by this trophy. ”
