Two people, a pregnant woman and a man, were found charred in a car in the rural area of Coroados (496 kilometers from São Paulo). According to investigations by the Civil Police, they were burned alive and tied up when the suspects threw gasoline and set the vehicle on fire.
The dead woman is Ellen Priscila Ferreira da Silva, 24, and the man, He and Carlos dos Santos, 39. The identification was made by the family of Ellen, who recognized the vehicle, as the bodies were unrecognizable. The certainty of the identifications of the bodies is linked to the result of the examination of DNA that has not yet been completed. The collected genetic material is already being analyzed in a specialized laboratory.
Although the car with the bodies was found on October 17 – two days after the deaths – the information that the victims were burned alive was not confirmed until yesterday, after the arrest of four suspects involved in the deaths. The prisoners are three men, aged 19, 35 and 38, and a woman, 36 years old.
The woman is trapped in Nanhadera jail. The three men are in the Penápolis prison. The temporary incarceration of suspects is valid for 30 days.
“It was a premeditated and very cruel crime. One of the suspects even personally comforted the victim’s mother after the death was confirmed,” he told the Twitter the delegate responsible for the case, Paulo de Tarso.
At questioning, the 19-year-old man and the 36-year-old woman were co-perpetrators of the two murders. The rest of the prisoners denied any involvement.
“The victim was four months pregnant with one of the suspects, who is married. His wife, who assumed the co-participation, and who is also pregnant, knew it,” the chief explained.
The police work with several hypotheses
The Civil Police work with three main motives for double homicide: revenge, crime of passion and drug debt. “Ellen and Ely Carlos would have debts with a drug trafficker who was also arrested. Another point is that Ellen refused to perform an abortion on the child conceived in the extramarital affair,” explained Police Chief Paulo de Tarso.
OR Twitter found out that the car in which the bodies were burned was driven by the man Ellen was in a relationship with. The other car was driven by his wife, who had the role of searching for the two suspects of throwing fuel at the victims.
Paulo de Tarso works with the possibility that another person is involved in the crime. “There is a fifth suspect involved, a teenager who has already been identified. He had the same role as the 19-year-old, that is, throwing gasoline at the victims.”
