Minutes after being announced as a new player of cruise, forward William Pottker said goodbye to Internacional and planned his arrival at Toca da Raposa II. He appreciated the opportunity to wear the light blue shirt and designed the construction of a story “of struggle, work and many joys.”
“Let it be a story of struggle, work and many joys. Thank you for this opportunity. I will always put your goals first and I hope to be part of this reconstruction and make you go back to where I should never have been,” Pottker wrote on his Instagram.
Pottker signs a four-year contract with Cruzeiro, who will own 50% of the attacker’s economic rights. The player lands on Belo Horizonte in the next few days to pass medical exams and start training with new teammates.
Trajetria
At Internacional, Pottker had a very discreet performance in 2020. He scored just one goal, scoring a 1-1 draw with Desportivo on July 25, for the fifth matchday of Group B of Gacho Championship. In total, Inter’s jersey 7 was on the field 16 times, seven of them as a starter.
Pottker’s last performance was on Wednesday, in a 2-1 win over Atltico-GO, in Goinia, in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil round of 16. The forward was named starter by Argentine coach Eduardo Coudet and was replaced at age 24 in the second half.
The 2019 season was also not a positive one for William Pottker, who rocked the net five times in 21 games. On two occasions, however, the center forward stood out. On September 15, he scored two goals in his 3-1 victory over Atlântico, in Independência, for matchday 19 of the Brazilian. On November 10 he repeated his shot in the 2 to 1 victory against Fluminense, in Beira-Rio, in Porto Alegre, for the 32nd match.
