Policyholders will not receive their thirteenth salary in December

Retirees and pensioners of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) should prepare for year-end expenses, as they will not receive the second installment of the 13th salary in December. Due to the new coronavirus pandemic, the municipality anticipated the payment of the Christmas bonus.

The transfers were made between April and June of this year. That is, the insured have already received the money. The first installment of the thirteenth salary is usually paid, in advance, in August / September, by presidential decree. However, this year, the payment was made between April and May.

The second installment, which is normally awarded in November / December, was paid between May 25 and June 5. This year’s anticipation was provided in Provisional Measure 927, signed by President Jair Bolsonaro on March 22.

The purpose of the change was to inject more resources in the economy during the economic crisis caused by the pandemic. However, now in December, this group will not have access to an extra portion. What can leave policyholders unattended in the last month of the year.

The second part of the Christmas bonus must be paid in November. Release must occur between the last five business days of November and the first five of December.
