Policyholders of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) can receive an additional allowance in the amount of R $ 2,000 this year. A proposal, which is pending in the Senate, provides for the benefit for retirees, pensioners or enrolled in the Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC).

The additional subsidy is contained in the legislative suggestion (SUG) No. 15/2020, by Jefferson Brandão Leone – BA. The document was sent to the Federal Senate Commission on Human Rights and Participatory Legislation (CDH), and was received by Senator Paulo Paim for analysis and consideration.

According to the text, the extra allowance, for the amount of R $ 2 thousand, will be granted to retirees, pensioners or enrolled in the Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC) during the state of public calamity, decreed until December 31.

Policyholders who receive up to three minimum wages are entitled to the benefit. The objective of the new proposal is to help this most vulnerable group to face the new coronavirus pandemic.

It is worth mentioning that the proposal, which aims to implement the R $ 2,000 bond, was registered on June 19 and has already collected more than 26,000 online signatures in favor of its implementation. Those interested can follow the evolution of the initiative on the website of the Federal Senate.
