Police see “structural racism” but not injuries

Chief Roberta Bertoldo, responsible for the investigation, said that the conclusion is that Beto, as the victim was known, was not the victim of a racial crime, due to the evidence obtained.

However, according to her, investigators understand that there was structural racism in the case, due to the way the black client was treated.

And if it was someone else, would this have happened? It is the question that everyone asks. That’s obvious
delegated by Roberta Bertoldo

For the head of the Civil Police, Nadine Anflor, during the investigation, “inhuman and degrading treatment” was identified with the victim.

Beto did not commit a criminal act, investigation concludes

Throughout the investigation, some declarants accused João Alberto of having been involved in friction with the inspectors both on the day he was killed and on previous visits to the store. However, according to investigators, no criminal conduct by the victim was verified.
