São Paulo Police Chief, General Ruy Ferraz Fontes, corrected the information that businessman Paulo Cupertino Matias, accused of murdering actor Rafael Miguel and his parents, was arrested in Paraná on Wednesday (28). According to Fontes, the Paraná Military Police will announce that they were confused and that Cupertino was not arrested in the north of Paraná.
The COURIER was one of the vehicles that disclosed the incorrect information and, for the error, it apologizes.
Delegate Fontes himself had previously reported that the murderer had been arrested.
On Monday (26), the Civil Police discovered that Cupertino made an identity with a false birth certificate in Jataizinho, in the north of Paraná. He was using a false name of “Manoel Machado da Silva” as a cover to hide.
The day he made the request for a new identity, the defendant used an address in Ibiporã, a city near Jataizinho. In addition to the false name, the certificate also contained different names of his parents and would originate from Rio Brilhante County (MS). Both documents were canceled, according to the G1 portal.

Paulo Cupertino has been a fugitive since he committed the crime in June 2019 in São Paulo. The official who allowed the issuance of the false document was heard by the Civil Police on Monday (26). In the statement, the man said he did not remember when he made his identity and that he did not know about the case.
In addition, the Civil Police reported that it had requested the Paraná Identification Institute for the documentation submitted for the identity application. The case is being investigated.
Crime
Rafael, who was 23 years old, was shot dead on June 9, 2019. His father and mother, João Alcísio Miguel, 52, and Miriam Selma Miguel, 50, were also killed. The three allegedly went to the house of Isabela to talk to Paulo about Rafael’s relationship with the girl. Still at the door, Paulo took a pistol and shot all three.
In June, when the crime was one year old, the young Camilla Miguel, Rafael’s sister and João and Miriam’s daughter, made a video commenting. He said that he speaks with the three of the dreams and that he has not yet overcome the tragedy that befell his family.
“Anger, hatred and sadness do not take over, but obviously that does not mean that we are over it. I only feel you in a very beautiful and pleasant way, as if you are here … I wanted to talk to each one of you and remember ”, Says the young woman.
