The São Paulo Civil Police arrested yesterday (3) five suspects of being involved in the murder of a 35-year-old solicitation driver in the south of the capital. Roger Ferreira da Silva had been missing since December 30 and was found dead on Sunday, the Ministry of Public Security reported.
Two people who bought and sold the victim’s cell phone were found and arrested for receiving. Later, the police located two other men and a young woman in Parelheiros, who were arrested on the spot, with two driver’s credit cards, ammunition and a rifle magazine. All three confessed to the crime and revealed where the driver’s body was.
“They started the crime with theft and it didn’t work because in the app’s services payments are usually made by card. Then, they demanded that the victim, who was threatened, request the release of the values of acquaintances, evolving towards extortion through kidnapping. , which also didn’t work. Finally, they carried out the homicide ”, explained the delegate Fábio Baena Martín.
Roger had lost his job at the start of the new coronavirus pandemic and went on to work as an app driver. He leaves his wife and five children.
Police said the driver attended a race to transport two men and a woman as passengers on December 30. The next day, the daughter informed the family that the father had not returned home.
The Military Police found Roger’s car charred in Grajaú on Saturday afternoon (2). That same day, a message was found in the victim’s email with the driver’s cell phone, helping police make the arrests.
