First Lieutenant Felipe Murakami Silva, 29, died after being shot last night by a criminal after being kidnapped. The officer and his 37-year-old girlfriend were approached in Mogi das Cruzes and taken to Itaquaquecetuba, in Greater São Paulo, where the shots were fired. In addition to the PM, the bride was also shot in the head, but lucidly managed to tell the police what happened.
The Civil Police said, based on the testimony of his girlfriend, that the couple, who was traveling in a black Audi A3, was approached by three criminals in Mogi while on a tour of Pico do Urubu. According to the woman, after being led by the criminals to Itaquaquecetuba, Silva got into a physical fight with one of the thieves. He was shot in the head and could not resist his injury on the way to the Santa Marcelina de Itaquera hospital, east of the capital.
The bride, at first, thought she had been hit on the back of the neck. He managed to run and find a PM base, where he narrated what happened. With a head injury, she was rushed to the emergency room. There it was identified that, in fact, they also shot him. The shot did not pierce and the doctors considered the wound to be minor.
The case was registered as robbery (theft followed by death) by the Itaquaquecetuba Police Station. According to the SSP (Ministry of Public Security), the Police District “investigates the events with the support of the SHPP (Homicide and Personal Protection Sector) of Mogi das Cruzes.”
The first lieutenant was assigned to the 31st BPM (PM Battalion), in Guarulhos, also in Greater São Paulo. He has been with the corporation for 5 years and 11 months and leaves behind a 6-year-old son.
The crime
According to the police, the robbery occurred around 7:30 pm last night, in Jardim Campo Limpo. As soon as the girlfriend narrated what happened to the prime minister, the police went to the scene and found Silva shot. At that point, the police called for help.
In search of the criminals, the police located the abandoned car about 800 meters from the crime scene. There the policeman’s wallet was found, with his documents and bank cards.
The case was registered at the Itaquaquecetuba Police Station at 9:30 p.m. Hours later, the MPs reported that they had found a motorcycle with an indication of participation in the crime (but without confirmation), in Vila Curuçá, east of São Paulo.
The family of the victim, in a state of shock, could not make a statement to the police. No information was released about the policeman’s funeral and burial. Chief Wadton Andrade Santos determined the search for the criminals and requested the necessary expertise for the investigation.
Regret da PM
Through a note, the Prime Minister stated that he is “with regret that he reports on the death of the first lieutenant.”
“The lieutenant was with his girlfriend in the municipality of Mogi da Cruzes when he was surprised by three armed criminals. The assailants kidnapped them and took them to the municipality of Itaquaquecetuba where, for reasons that will be clarified, they shot the officer in the head and a I shot the woman in the head, they were both rescued, but unfortunately the lieutenant did not resist and died, the girlfriend had the projectile lodged in her head.
