An employee of Rede Globo for 27 years, the journalist André Trigueiro debuted on Saturday night (25) at the Jornal Nacional stand. He, who in recent years served as editor and commentator for GloboNews, in addition to serving on Bom Dia Rio and RJTV, was promoted to the country’s largest news program after the new pandemic coronavirus crisis.
Earlier this month, Globo reformulated its JN on-call staff team after opting to remove São Paulo and Brasilia-based journalists from the rotation to avoid exposure of professionals to Covid-19.
As a result, presenters César Tralli, Maju Coutinho, Rodrigo Bocardi and Roberto Kovalick, from São Paulo, and Giuliana Morrone, from Brasilia, provisionally left the bank.

André Trigueiro has been on Globo since 1993 and began his career on the station as a reporter. In 1996 he went to GloboNews and was promoted to presenter, working at Jornal das Dez until 2012. Currently, he accumulates on the news channel the functions of presenter and editor-in-chief of the weekly Cities and Solutions, a commentator on Estúdio i. And he is eventually slated to work on Globo’s local television news in Rio de Janeiro.
He ended up becoming one of the best environmental journalists in the country, with several books published and awards won for his reporting.
