Plane with drugs crashes in rural area between Igaraí and Tapiratiba, in the interior of SP | São Carlos and Araraquara

A small plane crashed on Saturday night (12) in a rural area of ​​the region between Igaraí and Tapiratiba, 270 kilometers from São Paulo, the Fire Department reported on its official Twitter account. The plane was carrying 7.2 kg of cocaine.

According to firefighters, the pilot, still unidentified, died charred at the scene.

Rescue teams found 7 kg214 grams of cocaine packaged in seven packages: five intact and two fragmented.

There is still no information on the circumstances of the accident of the aircraft in a sugarcane field around 8:30 pm. The Center for Prevention and Investigation of Aeronautical Accidents (Cenipa) will investigate the case and try to trace the route of the plane.

There is also no information on the type of aircraft. On the helm of the plane is the inscription “RV-10”, which may indicate that it is a single engine with four seats.

The Mococa Fire Department was moved to the site to contain the flames. The Tapiratiba Military Police (PM) and a team of experts were also summoned.
