This Tuesday (3), the Central Bank begins the first phase of operations of PIX, the country’s new electronic payment tool. In this first stage, which will function as a test of the new system, only clients selected by the banks will have access to the new tool.
The new stage, called the restricted phase, will run until the 15th of this month. During this period, only selected bank customers will be able to make payment transactions at specific times. Starting on the 16th of this month, PIX will be fully functional for all customers.
The main objective of the restrictive phase of PIX is to verify the operation of the PIX in the production environment of the banks and the Central Bank, and to test all the available use cases of PIX for the launch of the comprehensive system.
The Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban) reported that the Central Bank has instructed financial institutions to choose clients capable of operating on the PIX, in order to reflect the profile of each one.
“It should be noted that in the restricted operation period, all customers should already be able to receive a PIX by manual insertion or PIX key (provided they have registered keys), while selected customers will have access to the full functionality of the PIX,” he stated the Febraban.
In this first phase of operations, the PIX will only work at predefined times. Check it out below:
- 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14 and 15 November
- On days 5 and 12 from 9 a.
- From 0am to 10pm on the 6th and 13th
On November 16, the PIX will begin operating at 9 am.
