Photos and videos of crowded parties, crowded beaches and people who disobey the security protocols against Covid-19 between the last days of 2020 and the first days of 2021 have generated a great impact on social networks. What many did not expect, however, is that in these scenarios of irresponsibility, health professionals would also be present, the “front line” in the fight against the coronavirus.
The Twitter profile, Brazil Covidfest, which has been denouncing these agglomerations, released, on the 31st, a photo of a group of doctors at a New Year’s party in Pipa (RN). Everyone in the picture is huddled in an audience full of shows and none is wearing a mask.
The photo was published by one of them, who identifies himself as Pedro Badim on Instagram. “Med Estácio en peso”, he wrote as a caption, referring to the Medicine course at the Estácio de Sá University.
In his profile he says that he settled in the Miguel Couto Municipal Hospital, in Rio de Janeiro, and still leaves the link to the Badim Hospital website, also in the Rio de Janeiro capital.
After exposing the profile photo of Brazil Covid Fest, Badim deleted the photo and restricted his Instagram.
In the publications of Hospital Badim, a health unit published by Pedro Badim on his profile, Internet users expressed their revolt.
“This is the hospital that has a student from the Badim family who huddle together to celebrate, right? How ugly, is he going to the hospital to do his residency and infect the general? ”Wrote an Instagram user.
“Disgust in a hospital with a doctor who crowds and passes COVID to patients,” published another, amid countless comments of the type.
Forum contacted the Municipal Health Secretariat of Rio de Janeiro to obtain a position from the portfolio on the complaint filed against Badim. The agency, in turn, reported that the doctor in question settled in the Miguel Couto Hospital, but was disconnected from the unit about 2 years ago.
The report also tried to contact, by phone and message on social networks, Badim Hospital, the hospital where he would currently work, and did not receive a refund until the publication of this article. The space remains open for demonstrations.
