The pharmaceutical company Pfizer says it has conducted a series of negotiations with the Brazilian government to supply its vaccine against Covid-19. On Thursday night (7), the company issued a statement in which it says that it offered, in August 2020, the first proposal for the acquisition of immunizers by the Brazilian government.
Under the proposal, according to Pfizer, the delivery of the first doses would be in December.

The government contract with Butantan provides for 8.7 million doses in January
It should be noted that Pfizer sent three proposals to the Brazilian government, for a possible acquisition of 70 million doses of its vaccine, the first proposal being sent by the company on August 15, 2020 and considered an amount for delivery in December 2020 ”, says the company in a note.
In the note, the pharmaceutical company says it cannot give details about the negotiation due to a confidentiality agreement signed with the Brazilian government on July 31.
However, the pharmaceutical company guarantees that the terms of the agreement offered to the Brazilian government are mine for contracts with other countries, including some that are already vaccinating.
“Countries such as the United States, Japan, Israel, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Mexico, Ecuador, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia and Panama, as well as the European Union and other countries, have guaranteed a number of doses to initiate the immunization of their populations, through an agreement that includes the same clauses presented to Brazil, ”the statement said.
The Minister of Health, Eduardo Pazuello, has reservations about the Pfizer vaccine, including not being responsible for any side effects and the obligation of the Brazilian government to provide material to dilute the immunizer. Pazuello also said that in other countries, Pfizer started vaccination with a very small number of doses.
Pfizer continues the regulatory process of continually submitting its vaccine to Anvisa and says it is still awaiting the Brazilian government’s decision to establish a supply contract.
