The PF (Federal Police) today launched Operation Second Plot to combat fraud in emergency aid. It was the largest action taken to date to combat this type of crime.

About 152 federal police officers participate in the operation. The PF carried out 42 search and seizure warrants, 7 arrest warrants, and 13 property theft warrants. The blocking of amounts of up to R $ 650 thousand in various accounts that received fraudulent benefits was determined.

The operation was carried out in 14 states: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Paraíba, Espírito Santo, Bahia, Santa Catarina, Tocantins, Paraná, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul, Maranhão, Piauí and Mato Grosso do Sul.

The line of work adopted implies that improper payments and irregular registration attempts are processed within the tools established by the Federal Police, seeking to identify the activities of criminal organizations and sets of frauds with common denominators (structured frauds). The objective is to restructure actions that cause serious damage to the assistance program.

On the preventive side, the Integrated Action Strategy against Fraud in Emergency Aid detected and blocked or canceled the registration of more than 3.82 million irregular orders. At least R $ 2.3 billion wrongly left the public coffers, considering only the payment of a portion of R $ 600.00, in each order.

According to PF, Emergency Aid had more than sixty million beneficiaries. And all payments made incorrectly are subject to analysis by the FP. Therefore, it is strongly oriented to those who requested and received the parcels, without complying with the requirements of the law, who carry out the return of the values, under penalty of being the subject of a criminal investigation.
