The Federal Police (PF) launched the morning of Wednesday 2, Operation False Samaritan in order to investigate the crimes of fraud to receive emergency assistance, threats and disclosure of personal information.
The corporation is executing a search and seizure order in the Varginha region, in Minas Gerais, against an investigator who “spread ways of defrauding profits to expand the network” of scammers and even threatened the president of the Federal Caixa Econômica Pedro Duarte Guimarães .
According to the PF, during the investigations it was identified that the suspect used the data of the victims to register in the requests for emergency assistance from the Federal Government and, thus, receive the amounts for his own benefit.
The threat and disclosure of personal data by the president of Caixa and his family occurred after Pedro Guimarães alerted the population about the existence of coups d’état, and declared that he would intensify measures to prevent scammers from taking measures, he said the FP.
