In the text, he thanks his colleagues and says he leaves office with “the certainty that the Federal Police remains strong, united and aligned with the noblest Republican principles.”

Valeixo was dismissed on Friday, in a decree published in the “Official Gazette” (DOU) and signed by the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Sergio Moro, and by President Jair Bolsonaro.

Hours later, when Moro announced that he would resign, he said he had not signed that document. And that, contrary to what was published, Valeixo would not have asked for his own exoneration.

In the letter, the now former CEO of PF does not make clear whether or not he applied for the position.

“Upon arriving at the General Directorate, I was able to reaffirm my convictions about the organ’s virtues, by finding an organization with solid ethical and institutional values, built by decades of dedicated and firm performance by those who preceded me,” says Valeixo in the message. .

Valeixo exoneration and departure from Moro

Valeixo’s resignation from office had been discussed since Thursday morning (23), when Moro and Bolsonaro met at the Planalto Palace. Valeixo’s resignation was confirmed this Friday morning and Moro’s resignation, announced by the minister himself hours later. In the speech, he denied having signed the resignation and said that “he found out in the Official Gazette.”
