The attacker, the initial investigation notes, data accessed since 2020, such as addresses and phone numbers, in the Server Portal, an administrative system outside the electoral process. However, the initial information was that these data referred only to the period from 2001 to 2010.
The suspicion is that the attack happened before september 1 because the material does not show information recorded in the TSE files after the 2nd of that month.
Minister Barroso denies that TSE suffered hacker attack
In the 1st round of elections
These data from the TSE servers were published on the Internet on Sunday (15), the first round of the 2020 municipal elections. The technicians of PF and TSE analyzed all the data published by the hacker.
Initially, the president of the TSE, Luís Roberto Barroso, stated that employee data and administrative information had been accessed, referring to the period from 2001 to 2010.
In addition to the disclosure of the data, there was another attempted attack by hackers on TSE systems on Sunday, which ended up being neutralized. This attack consisted of multiple blows from Brazil, New Zealand and the United States.
Barroso said, also on Sunday, that “the specific attack that occurred at 10:41 am did not produce any results simply because it was repelled in time and it was not possible to enter the system.”
The PF has already identified that the origin of the attack was in Portugal, and is now investigating whether there is any kind of coordinated action to try to delegitimize the electoral process.
According to the TSE, these attacks do not affect voting because the polls are not connected to the internet. Therefore, the computer is not vulnerable to attack.
