A Petrobras announced, this Monday (20), a further reduction in the average prices of fuels sold at refineries. A gasoline is 8% cheaper and diesel is down 4%. In the year, the price of gasoline has already fallen 52.3% and diesel fell 38%.
The prices are valid as of this Tuesday (21) and refer to the value sold to the distributors of the refineries. The final value for the driver depends on the market., since each station has its own pricing policy, which is subject to taxes, operating costs and labor costs.
“Our price policy for gasoline and diesel sold to distributors is based on the import parity price, formed by international quotations for these products plus the costs that importers would have, such as transportation and port taxes, for example. Parity is necessary because the Brazilian fuel market is open to competition, offering distributors the alternative of importing products, “explains the state company in a note.
According to the company, gasoline and diesel sold to dealers are different products at the gas station. Type A fuels only: gasoline before combining with ethanol and diesel without the addition of biodiesel. The products sold in the pumps to the final consumer are made of type A mixed with biofuels.
