Petrobras announced, on Tuesday (14), a further reduction in the average prices of fuels sold at refineries. Gasoline will be 8% cheaper and diesel will fall 6%. In the accumulated result for the year, the price of gasoline has already fallen by 48.2% and diesel (types S10 and S500) has fallen by 35.4%.
The prices are valid as of this Wednesday (15) and refer to the value sold by the refineries to the distributors. The final value for the driver will depend on the market, since each service station has its own pricing policy, which is subject to taxes, operating and labor costs.
According to a survey carried out by the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), the average price of gasoline at service stations in the country, between March 29 and April 4, was R $ 4,298 . The value of diesel was R $ 3,437. Ethanol, R $ 3,039.
“Our pricing policy for gasoline and diesel sold to distributors is based on the import parity price, made up of international quotes for these products plus the costs that importers would have, such as transportation and port taxes, for example . Parity is necessary because the Brazilian fuel market is open to free competition, offering distributors the alternative of importing products, “explains Petrobras in a note.
Fuel type
According to the company, gasoline and diesel sold to dealers are different from products at the service station. These are type A fuels: gasoline before combining with ethanol and diesel without the addition of biodiesel. “The products sold in the pumps to the final consumer are made up of type A mixed with biofuels.
