With the official start of vaccination on Tuesday, the general government anticipates the start of the national immunization campaign for one day. The invitation to the governors to deliver the immunizers was made after the first vaccine was administered in São Paulo by Governor João Doria, this Sunday.

A National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) authorized this Sunday 17, unanimously, the emergency use of Coronavac vaccines and the University of Oxford against covid-19. The vaccination campaign will start with Coronavac, developed by the Butantã Institute in partnership with the Chinese laboratory Sinovac.

“This is the starting point for vaccination against the coronavirus in the country,” Health Minister Eduardo Pazuello told the governors on Monday. “Today we will distribute all the vaccines to the states,” he added.

The distribution of available doses of the vaccine will be done with the support of FAB planes and the Azul, Gol, Latam and Voepass airlines. The distribution, according to the minister, will be made to “focal points” previously defined in each state. Older people living in nursing homes, indigenous peoples, and front-line health professionals are the first to receive the vaccine.

The country has 6 million doses of Coronavac. The São Paulo government intends to keep around 1.4 million for the state in the state. The volume does not cover the priorities.
