Paulo Gustavo continues with ECMO therapy (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) in the ICU. The actor’s press office told the Twitter that the table follows as disclosed above.
“On mechanical ventilation since Sunday (21), in Rio de Janeiro, the actor showed signs of improvement, but due to the worsening of his clinical condition, he had to evolve to ECMO therapy,” the latest statement highlighted.
Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation is a technique used in people with cardiovascular or pulmonary insufficiency. The therapy is based on the use of a pump to circulate blood through an “artificial lung” outside the body and then back into the bloodstream.
Today, celebrities demonstrated on social networks waiting for the recovery of the actor. Regina Casé, Tatá Werneck, Mônica Martelli, Caetano Veloso and other personalities also published messages of support for the artist.
Paulo Gustavo’s father, Júlio Marcos, and her husband, Thales Bretas, also spoke after the release of the note that confirmed the worsening of the actor’s lung function.
