The singer Parrerito died around 9:30 pm on Sunday (13), in Belo Horizonte, according to the press office of Trio Parada Dura. Diagnosed with Covid-19, the musician had been hospitalized since August 29 and could not resist the complications of the disease.
Eduardo Borges, known as Parrerito, was 67 years old and diabetic. On the 31st he suffered a sudden illness and needed to be transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital in the capital, where he remained in serious condition.
“Like the swallow, Parrerito flies off and leaves an entire Brazil that already lacks the voice that for almost four decades has marked generations in Trio Parada Dura ”, says the press office in a statement sent to the press.

Currently, the Parada Dura Trio was made up of the musicians Parrerito, Creone and Xonadão. The other two members of the gang took the test and tested negative for the coronavirus. Parrerito’s wife was also diagnosed with Covid-19, but was recovering at home.

Parrerito was born in São Fidélis (RJ), but built his career with the Trio Parada Dura, in Minas Gerais. He lived with his family in Contagem, in the Metropolitan Region of BH. The artist leaves his wife, daughters and grandchildren.

On social media, celebrities and friends mourned the loss. “Another great artist has left … Rest in peace, Parrerito! May you always be remembered for all the good you did for music. My feelings to family, friends and fans!”, Bruno Belutti, of the duo Marcos, posted & Belutti.

Parrerito joined Trio Parada in place of brother Barrerito, who suffered a plane crash in the 1980s, became paraplegic, and decided to pursue a solo career.
The founder of the group and last representative of the original formation, Carlos Alberto Mangabinha Ribeiro, known as Mangabinha, passed away in 2015 after suffering a stroke.
The Trio Parada Dura was created in 1971 and has had several formations throughout history. “Fuscão Preto”, “Telephone Mudo” and “As Andorinhas” are among the most successful songs recorded by the group.
