Palmeiras had a gala performance and beat Delfín 5-0, this Wednesday, at Allianz Parque, for the return of the second round of the Conmebol Libertadores. As he had already won 3-1 in Ecuador, Verdão went 8-1 on aggregate.

The match was marked by an incessant search for Alviverde’s goal, which resulted in an elastic score and transformed the Brazilian team into the owner of the best attack of the Libertadores, with 25 goals (the Silver river is 23).

In the field, Palmeiras started far superior, dominating possession and creating several chances, but without being able to get the ball inside.

The Ecuadorians, for their part, tried to risk themselves in the counterattacks, but the technical inferiority between the teams was very clear.

Proof of this came at 29: Weverton lunged forward and Lucas Lima found Patrick de Paula on the crescent. The midfielder fired a bludger into Banguera’s box and scored a great goal for Verdão.

Soon after, however, Patrick himself felt a pinch on his thigh while attempting a counterattack and had to request a replacement.

He left the field crying and worried, being able to stay out for up to 20 days with a stretch.

At half-time, Abel Ferreira moved: he put Zé Rafael in Patrick de Paula’s place and gave Lucas Lima a break, joining Raphael Veiga.

With the movements, Verdão became even more offensive and hungry for the ball. Not surprisingly, the defeat was built in sequence.

At 4, Gabriel Verón threw himself on the counterattack and gave a light touch of coverage, beating Banguera and registering another beautiful goal at Allianz Parque.

It was very easy and Palmeiras arrived as they wanted to the rival area. More goals was just a matter of time.

At 7 o’clock the Palestrinos arrived playing ball, Gabriel Verón rolled and Willian kicked hard, scoring for the 14th time this season.

The prettiest thing would come at 15: Raphael Veiga crossed perfectly and Gabriel Veron hit a wonderful volley to score another great goal on the night.

After that, Abel Ferreira’s team slowed down, but he still missed some clear chances, especially with young Gabriel Silva.

In added time, the fifth goal still remained: Gabriel Silva redeemed himself and gave a great pass to Danilo, who completed for the nets and scored for the first time with the Alviverde mantle.

On Wednesdays, the Palestra faces anyone who passes the confrontation between Freedom, from Paraguay, and Jorge Wilstermann, from Bolivia.
