The fine for terminating the Spanish Miguel Ángel Ramírez in Independiente Del Valle (EQU) is around US $ 1 million (R $ 5.6 million), a value that can hinder the interest of Palmeiras in the 35-year-old.
As the journalist Danilo Lavieri showed on his blog, Ramírez heads a long list of options for President Maurício Galiotte after the resignation of Vanderlei Luxembourg, on Wednesday night (14). However, there are difficulties beginning with the termination, which Del Valle would not give up.
In December 2019, when Santos flirted with Ramírez, the Ecuadorian club’s board said they expected the coach to fulfill his contract in December 2021 and, otherwise, the fine would be paid. He is considered Ramírez’s godfather and took him, for example, to Qatar, when the coach was working at the Aspire Academy, a local government project to reveal talent to the national team. He already said that he advises Olabe to make career decisions and the top hat wants the student to continue the job in Europe.
Galiotte and director Anderson Barros’s list, however, is long. Among the foreigners is, for example, Sebastian Beccacece, Jorge Sampaoli’s eternal assistant who now trains Racing. Former winger Chiqui Arce has no intention of leaving Cerro Porteño.
Among the Brazilians, Rogério Ceni, from Fortaleza, and Guto Ferreira, from Ceará, are names that please. Ceni, however, would hardly leave Fortaleza in the middle of the season and there is another problem: his identification with São Paulo, rival rival of Palmeiras and of which he is the greatest idol in history.
