Palmeiras announced on Wednesday afternoon the hiring of Chilean defender Benjamin Kuscevic, a former Catholic University. The 24-year-old athlete signed a contract with Verdão valid for five seasons.
Verdão bought 50% of the Chilean economic rights; the club did not disclose the values. The payment, however, will be from 2021. The name of the defender had already been evaluated by the club before the arrival of Portuguese coach Abel Ferreira, who agreed to the hiring.

Benjamín Kuscevic spent time with the base teams of Real Madrid, Spain, in 2014. It was revealed by the Universidad Católica, a club for which he served since 2015. He also had tickets for the base and main teams of Chile.
The defender underwent ankle surgery two months ago, but is now in a position to participate in training and be used by the new coaching staff.
The club recently traded Vitor Hugo with Turkey’s Trabzonspor. Felipe Melo’s return to midfield left Verdão with only Emerson Santos and Renan as options for defense. Henri, who had been promoted to the pro roster in the middle of the year, suffered a knee injury and is only expected to return to ball training in January.
