On the first day of dispatch after being installed as mayor of Rio, Eduardo Paes is still unsure about the payment of the thirteenth salary for city officials. According to the mayor, there is no money in the town hall. In the administrative center, Paes said that the Secretary of Finance and Planning, Pedro Paulo, continues to “take the foot” of municipal finances, with a possible return until Monday 4.

– That’s not so, I’m sure. It is very difficult to distribute paychecks and not leave money in the account. Our reality is that the Crivella government uncovered two payrolls, the thirteenth and the December one. We are going to make all the efforts of the world and Secretary Pedro Paulo should give more details on Monday. Now we have access to the city accounts to see how this payment will be. It is an absolute priority. The fact is that they did not leave funds in the box – said Paes.
