According to AstraZeneca CEO Pascal Soriot, scientists “have found a perfect vaccine formula” against Covid-19, developed in partnership with the University of Oxford, that has “an efficiency of around 90%.”

The CEO of the company also noted that the immunizer will continue with a two-dose regimen. However, he said he still cannot elaborate until the study is published in a scientific journal.

In the release of the results of the third phase of the studies with the “first formula”, on December 8, the immunizer AstraZeneca showed an average effectiveness of 70%.

The study coordinators separated the clinical trials into two groups: one received the first standard dose followed by a booster vaccine (62.1% efficacy) and the other received a low dose vaccine followed by a standard dose vaccine (90 % effectiveness).

Now, there is an expectation that the results will be published with the “new formula”. The UK awaits the data from the new study to assess an emergency clearance.
