In Fortaleza, a drug trafficker from Amazonas was arrested who underwent plastic surgery and changed his look after escaping in 2018. Lenon Oliveira do Carmo, 39, known as “Bileno”, also changed his identity and changed his name to Aylon Soares Cardoso. He is named the author of homicides in Manaus and responds to lawsuits that add up to more than 60 years in prison.
The court had granted him the right to house arrest, using the detainee’s electronic ankle bracelet, but the detainee destroyed the equipment and fled the state. In order not to be arrested again, the drug trafficker underwent plastic surgery on his face, adopted a new appearance and identity, and moved to Fortaleza.
In the capital of Ceará, he lived in an upper-middle-class beach neighborhood, according to the Amazonas Public Security Secretariat (SSP-AM). Bileno boasted of a life of luxury with his family. When he was arrested, on Saturday morning (10/17), he visited what would be the new residence, a high-level house meters from the beach of Icaraí, in the coastal area.
Trafficking, homicides and invasions
Also according to the SSP-AM, Lenon Oliveira do Carmo has several police records in Manaus: arrests for drug trafficking, association for trafficking, homicides and environmental crimes. Investigations by the Civil Police indicate that it dominated domestic trafficking in neighborhoods and acted in the exchange of drugs.
“Bileno also commanded land invasions in the capital of Amazonas and had under his leadership a highly violent armed militia, responsible for the expansion of drug trafficking. In an invasion of Francisca Mendes, she set up a leisure club for drug traffickers and diverted the course of the river to set up a natural spa, ”says the SSP-AM in a note.
The suspicion of the police is that the place would serve as a kind of bunker for criminals, where strategies would be established to articulate the escape of traffickers in the closed regime. Considered of high danger, he also participated in the deaths registered in the Antônio Jobim Penitentiary Complex (Compaj) in January 2017, when 56 detainees were brutally murdered, the folder says.
Bileno began to occupy a command position in a Rio de Janeiro criminal organization after leaving a local faction about two years ago. According to the investigations, he was a kind of executive of the inmate Gelson Carnaúba, alias “Mano G”.
Lenon had been transferred from the state prison system after the Amazon capital broke a homicide record with more than 100 cases involving fighting between drug trafficking factions. “He was in the Mossoró prison, in Rio Grande Norte, for about four months. Upon returning to Amazonas, he obtained the right to house arrest from the courts with the use of an electronic anklet. But he destroyed the equipment and fled the state, ”reports SSP-AM.
