Considered by the State Public Ministry (MPE) as the most important action against the First Capital Command (PCC) since the transfer of leaders to other states, in February 2019, Operation Sharks, launched on Monday (14), reached the top of the criminal organization with direct action in the State, that is, formed by the successors of the high members of the faction who are imprisoned.

Of the 12 arrest warrants for leaders, four were carried out, the MPE announced Monday afternoon. One of the main targets of the operation was Claudio José Pinheiro Freitas, 36, leader of the faction in Baixada Santista, who received police officers in the department where he lived, being killed in retaliation, with rifle and pistol shots, around 6 A.M.

In his apartment, on Avenida Doña Ofelia Cacerrari Reis, 404, in Aviation, the policemen of the Tobias Aguiar (Rota) Ostensive Rounds, who acted in support of the MPE, found eight explosive emulsions, requiring the arrival of the Special Tactical Actions Group (The capital) to remove artifacts from the site. Cell phones, a watch, a pendrive, bills and money, including an amount in Paraguayan currency, were immediately seized for the continuation of the investigations of the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco) of the MPE.

Police say repeated requests were made for Claudio to open the apartment door. The goal was to execute his arrest warrant for 30 days. Faced with negative responses, the door was flung open and the man with a pistol in hand began shooting at the police, they said. The Rota responded with four rifle shots and two pistol shots.

Collective interview

At a press conference in São Paulo, prosecutor Lincoln Gakiya explained the details of the results obtained by Operations Sharks. “We were able to identify and map the entire leadership of the faction. The orders issued were against people with command power, both inside and outside the prisons. We located important sectors of the organization linked to trafficking, in addition to identifying those responsible for the logistics of drug supply. of Paraguay and Bolivia “.

Also according to Gakiya, the disorganization of the internal and external management of the criminal organization aims to also reach the financial sector of the gang, since the investigations pointed to the sending of thousands of dollars abroad, in addition to money laundering through the acquisition of real estate. and automobiles. “Those investigated had a sumptuous life in the capital, as well as in apartments by the sea,” he added.

“We have reached the top of the criminal organization,” emphasized Attorney General Mario Sarrubbo.

According to prosecutor Leonardo Romanelli, Operation Sharks also affected the organization’s so-called X-ray sector, responsible for collecting information on the lower functions of the faction to protect its leadership.

“The CCP has never divided into cells, it is still an essentially pyramidal organization. There is the dome that is stuck, the dome still loose, which was the target of Operation Sharks, and then the X-ray sector, which protects the so-called Final Adjustment, bringing together one person from each function, as if it were an advisory council, to guide decisions, “he said.
