Approximately one ton of marijuana hidden in a shipment of watermelon, from the state of Paraná destined for Complexo do Salgueiro, in São Gonçalo, was intercepted and seized this Friday (23). In the action, two men were arrested in flagrante delicto for the crimes of drug trafficking and involvement in drug trafficking.
The operation was triggered by civil police from the Neves Police Station (73 DP), based on intelligence and surveillance actions. The agents were able to identify that the drug was being transported by Via Dutra in a truck, registered in the name of the driver himself, from the state of Minas Gerais.
In an attempt to ensure the success of the drug’s arrival at its destination, the Salgueiro Complex, the criminal action involved the participation of a “scout”, born in Paraná, who was leading the way, in a vehicle with a Paraná sign. , in constant communication with the trucker to try to avoid Blitz and policing approaches.
When leaving Via Dutra and arriving at the intersection with Avenida Brasil, in the Cordovil neighborhood of Rio, the police team approached the two vehicles (scout and transporter), in sequence, detaining the drivers, who admitted which was the luck of the drugs, as well as locating the drug stored in the truck.
According to the Civil Police, the investigations continue in secret, so the other members of the criminal organization are identified and arrested, with the aim of dismantling the gang.
