Nurse posts videos without a mask at work and making fun of Coronavac

The Hospital da Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Vitória opened an investigation to investigate the conduct of a nurse who published a video on social networks in which she appears without a mask at work during working hours.

The publication was made on Friday night (22) and shows Nathana Ceschim with a surgical cap, in front of a computer in the unit. The hospital did not specify in which area the recording was made. In the video, he plays with a colleague, who appears at the bedroom door wearing a cap, gloves, and a mask.

Hours earlier, the same nurse published a video in which she disdained the application of the Coronavac vaccine. A receipt shown on the social network shows that his immunization against Covid-19 occurred on Tuesday (19), in Vitória.

“I took it into account (sic) that I want to travel, not to feel safer. Because a vaccine that gives me 50% security is not a vaccine. I drank water,” he said in the video.

In a statement, Santa Casa reported that the lack of a mask in the environment has been a prohibited practice since the beginning of the pandemic and that all employees are aware of this standard.

The hospital also said that “it will take the necessary measures to guarantee the safety of its patients and the maintenance of standards and fundamental behaviors for good care.”

Regarding the nurse’s speech about the vaccine, Santa Casa clarified that, in no case, does she agree with this type of thinking and that she has always defended science.

“It would not be now that I would change my position, in such a difficult moment that we all face. We believe in the vaccine and we hope that soon, not only the employees, but the entire society can be immunized, ”says the note sent by the hospital.

The State Secretariat for Health (Sesa) of Espírito Santo reported that “it regrets the position of any health professional who discredits science in favor of life.”

The Regional Council of Nursing of Espírito Santo (Coren-ES) issued a note in which it rejects the conduct of the nurse and indicates that the case will be investigated by the entity. Read in full:

“The Regional Nursing Council rejects the conduct of the nurse and informs that it has already determined the opening of an ethical procedure to investigate the case. It is unacceptable that, after eleven months of facing the pandemic and in defense of life, a professional The nursing staff must position itself in the networks in an irresponsible and inconsequential way, compromising science, health and people’s lives. The research, with a wide right of defense, will be based on the Nursing Code of Ethics. The sanctions provided they range from warning to termination of professional registration. “

Both videos were published on the nurse’s profile, which was public until Saturday morning (23), when she made the profile private. The A Gazeta reports and the G1 / ES website have tried to contact her since Friday night (22). As soon as I receive a reply, this post will be updated.

The vaccine the nurse receives is Coronavac, developed by the Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac in association with the Butantan Institute. The efficacy and safety of Coronavac has been proven in clinical trials conducted in Brazil.
