A click of a wave on the beach of Cacimba do Padre, in Fernando de Noronha, registered a lemon shark. The photo was taken, last Sunday (27), by nurse Dandara Matias Guedes, who lives on the island and works in the Superintendence of Health in the fight against Covid-19, as determined by G1.
“I like to photograph, whenever I can, during my breaks. I was in Cacimba do Padre and saw five sharks in a region with many sardines. I set up the camera, took a series of photos, and got the record. I loved the result, ”he revealed.
Dandara also said that the animal is over five feet long. The nurse also decided not to enter the water, but not because of the shark but because of the rough sea.
“The photos are beautiful and portray the moment when the shark manages the school of sardines, a kind of patrol. Its objective is to prevent the sardines from leaving the beach. At the end of the afternoon, he starts to eat, he devours the sardines ”, the shark specialist, fisheries engineer Léo Veras, told G1.
Also according to Veras, “sharks do not surf the waves, like dolphins do. They stay in the region until a few seconds before the wave breaks ”.
