The disappearance of the monolith seen in Utah was claimed by an American who lives in the region. In a post on Tiktok, he appears with friends removing what would be the object that went viral and caused astonishment, because its origin is not yet known.

In the post, Sylvan Christensen warns: “Do not leave your personal property in a public space if you do not want it removed.”

The post features videos and photos of him and his friends at night, scooping up and carrying an object that appears to be the monolith:

Sylvan describes himself on Instagram as a tour guide, climber, and audiovisual content producer. He also often posts photos and videos of basejump jumps.

The removal of the monolith from Utah generated mixed reactions. Many curious people went to visit the place, but this caused problems. Without structures to receive large audiences, the venue has no shoulder and there are no on-site restrooms, for example.

“We are used to tourism in the canyons of the National Park and Bears Ears, but not as fast and focused as it was now,” said Jason Torgerson, San Juan County Police Chief.

Witness the withdrawal

A photographer had already witnessed the removal of the monolith. Ross Bernards said he saw four men dismantle the structure.

Ross explained that on Friday (27), around 8:40 pm (local time), he was there with three other friends when he heard voices in the middle of the desert. Then four men appeared and began to push hard on the monolith, which began to tilt toward the ground. Mysterious men also pushed the object in the opposite direction in an attempt to remove it.

“That’s why you don’t leave garbage in the desert,” said one of the men who seemed to understand the object as a pollutant for the natural landscape, according to Ross. After the efforts, the monolith fell to the ground with a loud noise. The men then placed and transported the object in a wheelbarrow, and left the scene.

“As they were leaving with the pieces, one of them said, ‘Leave no trace,'” Ross said in a telephone interview with The New York Times.

Romania

An object similar to the one in Utah was seen in Romania, but it has also disappeared. According to local reports, an unidentified person removed the metal structure overnight. The case is very similar to what happened in the North American desert.

As reported by TMZ yesterday, the inhabitants of the city believe that the case was nothing more than a joke by a metal worker or a welder. Still, it is unclear if this person took the item from there.

The bright triangular pillar was found on the Batca Doamnei hill in the town of Piatra Neamt, in northern Romania, last Thursday (26). It was located a few meters from the well-known archaeological monument of the Petrodava Fortress, a fort built by the ancient Dacian people between 82 BC. C. and 106 d. C.

The triangular structure was about 4 meters high and one side faced Mount Ceahlau, known locally as the Sacred Mountain.
