In its bulletin, Fiocruz also highlighted that, in some Brazilian states, the occupancy rates of private hospitals are even higher than those of the SUS (Unified Health System).

As a measure to suppress the pandemic, Fiocruz cites the adoption of stricter restrictions on the movement of people and also in relation to the operation of non-essential activities. The laboratory also asks that the epidemiological situation of each region be taken into account and that evaluations be carried out weekly “based on technical criteria such as bed occupancy rates and a growing trend in the number of cases and deaths.”
