Neymar was sent off in PSG’s 1-0 loss to Lille today in the French Championship, and was ultimately detonated by the media in Europe.
In the final minutes of the match, the Brazilian got angry after a ball dispute and pushed Djaló out of the field as he tried to catch the ball from the opponent’s hands. Shirt 10 received the second yellow card and consequently the red one.
In France, France Football magazine criticized the Brazilian’s immaturity and cited Neymar’s “child’s play”.
“His behavior was terrible. Against Lille, in a crucial match for the French champion title, Neymar was 13 years old. The maturity of a junior and the tactical recklessness of the child who does only what he pleases,” said the magazine .
Le Parisien newspaper warned: “If Neymar doesn’t want his season to turn into a fiasco, he knows what he has to do in Munich on Wednesday,” when PSG face Bayern Munich on Wednesday, the Champions League final.
In Spain, Sport published: “Neymar, sent off for his umpteenth tantrum. Neymar was sent off in the last minute of regulation time for having fallen in the opponent’s game.”
Marca wrote: “Aggression, red and defeat for PSG. Neymar ended up losing his nerve.”
