On the morning of this Saturday, September 12, a Piper PA-34-200 Seneca training aircraft, prefix PT-KDH, made an emergency landing at the Silvio Nombre Júnior Airport, in Maringá, in the interior of Paraná. The twin-engine belongs to the Maringá Aeroclube and he was taking a flying lesson with an instructor and a student on board, when he faced a crash that made him land face down.
The airfield fire department dumped water on the airport runway before and after landing to prevent any fire, and the two occupants quickly evacuated the aircraft to stay safe in the event of a fire, as seen in the video below. follow:
So far nothing unusual, after all, planes end up facing breakdowns and belly landings due to landing gear failures are not so rare. However, after the incident, strange information began to circulate in the country’s newspapers.

Although it is not impossible for an aircraft to lose a landing gear in flight, after all, a failure in maintenance or a defective part could lead to such a rare occurrence (very rare indeed), it is more likely only reported that the landing occurred “without the landing gear”, and not with the loss of it in flight.
The term “landing without landing gear” is quite common in aviation to indicate when the pilot could not lower it correctly, being stored inside the aircraft, and not because he lost it in flight.
