Neto, from DEM, gets a majority of votes in Volta Redonda; not registered, awaits trial | South of Rio and Costa Verde

Neto, from Democrats, was the most voted candidate in Volta Redonda (RJ) in the municipal elections this Sunday (15). At the end of the count, he had 57.20% of the votes. There were 85,673 votes in total.

The candidate defeated Baltazar, from the PSD, who came in second place with 12.66% (18,961 votes), and the current mayor Samuca Silva, from the PSC, with 9.27% ​​(13,889 votes).

With the registration canceled, Neto awaits trial to see if he will assume the position of mayor for the next four years.

If he also wins in court, this will be his fifth term at the helm of the Volta Redonda City Council: he ruled the city from 1997 to 2004 and from 2009 to 2015.

The election of Volta Redonda had a 25.49% abstention, 3.65% white votes and 6.19% null votes.

Neto is 64 years old, single, has finished high school and declares his occupation as a retired person to the TSE. It has a declared equity of R $ 1,353,588.05.

The alternate is engineer Faria, also a Democrat, who is 80 years old. Both are part of the Voluntad Popular 2020 coalition, formed by the Democratic, PTB and PMB parties.
