High point of Christmas attractions in Belo Horizonte, the lighting of the Liberty Lights Circuit It was inaugurated this Wednesday (2/11). The event, attended by the Governor of Minas Gerais, Romeu zema (Novo), also marked one of the celebrations of 300 years of State.
This year, the traditional Christmas lighting that adds sparkle to Praa da Liberdade expanded to other locations in downtown Belo Horizonte. The objective of the measure is to spread people so that there is no agglomeration, due to the danger of spreading COVID-19.
The lighting will be divided into four modalities: mapped projection in the Palácio da Liberdade – interaction performance between the audiovisual and the physical environment; Conical and Christmas lighting in the central lane of Praa da Liberdade and various buildings; gabled projections at points on Rua da Bahia and Avenida do Contorno; and laser show, a light show that will be seen from various points of the city.
On Wednesday night, for example, the public was able to see the projection centered on the Liberty Palace. The festival was opened by musicians Marcus vianna me Maurcio Tizumba placeholder image, which had the Orquestra Sinfnica do Estado society. Together they made a tribute to the 300 years of Minas Gerais.
Romeu Zema also spoke at the event. Minas has green fields, cheese, coffee with milk, it has brilliant minds, it has cutting edge technology, it has unique people and action. I am a miner from the interior with great pride ”.
Zema ended the speech by citing historical figures from Minas Gerais, such as Tiradentes, Guimares Rosa and Juscelino Kubitschek. “We have examples of greatness and improvement: we have Tiradentes and its fight against the tax spill, Guimares Rosa with the essence of being from Minas Gerais and JK with a pioneering spirit and many others. The light show runs until January 6. The public will be able to check the lighting in different parts of the city, daily, between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
The initiative of the Chamber of Merchants of Belo Horizonte (CDL / BH) in alliance with Companhia Energtica de Minas Gerais (Cemig), Praa da Liberdade Circuit, State Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage (Iepha) and Fundao Clvis Salgado. The project will cost R $ 1.4 million.
