Adam Esteves Cardoso died last Saturday (3), the victim of an accident in a rope jump, a sport known as the human pendulum. The businessman was tied with ropes and equipped with a helmet to launch himself into a 107-meter high section. The information is from Época magazine.
At the time of the jump, the rope holding Adam’s body should have been at least five meters off the ground when he stretched out. In this way, the entrepreneur’s body would swing from one side to the other, like a pendulum. As soon as the movement was stopped, it would be placed on the ground safely.
Adam jumped, immediately fell to the ground, and died instantly from head trauma. The accident occurred on a viaduct in Minas Gerais.

The Civil Police are investigating whether there was an error in the adjustment of the rope, which would have been too long at the time of Adam’s jump and caused the tragedy.
“Nobody wanted him to leave, his mother asked him not to jump. But he was excited, he was young, and he insisted that he knew people who had already jumped. So he left, he was happy that day, I saw the pictures before the jump. But he jumped up and went straight to the ground. When he fell to his feet, his body shrank with the impact. My son was arrested. I had to go see it for myself because I didn’t want to believe it, ”Luiz Carlos, Adam’s father, told Época magazine.
Adam Esteves was the sixteenth person to jump on the day of the accident. He was preceded by a cousin who accompanied him on the tour. After jumping, the instructors slowly released the rope until the cousin reached the ground, descended, and removed his equipment. Then he waited at the landing spot to see Adam Esteves jump.
“Adam asked his cousin to go for a walk. You see, my son paid R $ 130.00 to die and spent another R $ 130.00 for his cousin to be traumatized. He ended up in the hospital in shock. Now he’s home but he can’t stop remembering what happened and crying. The two were close friends, they grew up together, ”said Luiz.
