“Nobody moved, nobody fell, nobody did anything,” lamented Excelsa Balsamão, recalling the death of her 38-year-old daughter Hilma Balsamão de Moraes. The incident occurred on the last day of November 20, when the property manager fell from the roof of the apartment of the then boyfriend Gustavo Veloso, in the district of Castelo, in Pampulha. The Military Police registered the case as a suicide.

“No one who was at the party has contacted us until today. That day, we only learned of his death 4 hours after what happened. After that I had nothing else to do ”, he declared.

Excelsa and other relatives, including her 16-year-old daughter, ex-husband, one of Hilma’s twin brothers and sisters, were summoned to the Department of Homicides and Protection of Persons (DHPP) on Thursday (9), to give testimony about the case that still in secret of justice.

“My daughter would never do that (kill herself). She would never abandon her daughter in the world alone. She has been in much worse situations and has always been victorious. She was a hard worker and never depended on any man,” she said. Mother.

Hilma’s twin sister, Michele Balsamão, who lives in São Paulo, came to Belo Horizonte seeking clarification.

“I want this case to be resolved as soon as possible so that we can get on with life. It is very difficult,” he said.

Hilma was the fourth of six siblings. She lived with her daughter and had a relationship with Gustavo for about seven months.

“We don’t know him in person. I saw him face to face a couple of times when she called me,” the sister said. “Until today, he has not spoken to us. No one from his family came to us,” he added.

The testimonies began around 9:45 am and will continue throughout the afternoon. According to relatives, the DHPP arrived with T-shirts with the photo and the phrase “what happened to Hilma? # Justiçaporhilma”, the focus of the testimonies will be an attempt to counter the hypothesis of self-extermination.

At the end of the morning, DHPP Chief Delegate Letícia Gamboge stated that the investigations are still ongoing and details will only be revealed at the end of the investigation.
